Massachusetts and the United States are currently in the midst of a public health crisis due to the

disorders. This training will provide background on the opioid epidemic, review assessment and treatment
for opioid use disorders, including drug testing, medication, therapy, and family interventions, and accessing care.
Guidance for working with parents of children with opioid use disorders will also be reviewed. Finally,
an update on cannabis and its uses in the context of legalization in Massachusetts, neurobiology of marijuana in the developing
brain, and multimodal treatment strategies for adolescent cannabis use disorders will be provided.
